Zoofari Objectives

1/6

At Taronga, we believe in a thriving future for wildlife and people.

Together we have a responsibility to protect the world’s wildlife, not just for today, but our future generations.

Taronga’s zoos in Sydney and Dubbo aim to create experiences that delight and inspire lasting connections between people and wildlife. We are a not-for-profit, centre of conservation excellence and we participate in regional and global conservation breeding programs to establish insurance populations of species threatened in the wild.

We help to protect threatened and priority wildlife by supporting 44 research and conservation projects across Australia, and a further 25 programs around the globe.

From tiny Corroborree Frogs to Australasia’s first Greater One-horned Rhino calf, our efforts have kept and will keep these species alive for generations to come.

Help us realise our vision of a shared future for wildlife and people.

What is Zoofari?

The Zoofari Gala is the Taronga Foundation’s major annual Fundraising Gala event and is fast achieving recognition as one of Sydney’s most sought-after charity events. Every year The Zoofari Gala raises vital funds and awareness for priority conservation programs and improving Taronga’s facilities here in Sydney and at Taronga Western Plains Zoo in a fun, glamorous and intimate environment.

From the moment guests arrive they are taken on a journey to inspire and engage them with Taronga’s vision. Guest are treated to unique animal encounters whilst enjoying cocktails and canapés. This is followed by a delicious sit-down dinner, and live and silent auctions. It really is the perfect occasion to enjoy with your colleagues and friends, all whilst supporting and raising vital funds for wildlife and conservation.

Over the past two years, Zoofari has raised $920,000 for Taronga’s critical conservation programs through the generosity of our sponsors, donors and guests who attended.

Our attendees include high net worth individuals and professionals, well-connected socialites, business leaders, philanthropists and influencers who are highly engaged in Taronga and our mission.

Zoofari 2020 - an important update

After careful deliberation and in consideration of the current COVID-19 climate and restrictions, we have come to the difficult decision to cancel Taronga’s annual fundraising gala, Zoofari, which was due to be held on Friday 20th November 2020.

The decision is in the best interest of the safety and welfare of our guests, staff, animals and volunteers.

We know how disappointing this is, in a year that is already proving to be extremely challenging.

However, we do want to reassure you that Taronga and the Zoofari committee are determined to deliver a memorable Zoofari event experience, when we can safely bring our loyal supporters together to celebrate Taronga and our conservation outcomes.  We look forward to keeping you up to date on when Zoofari can be brought to life.

Thank you for your understanding, patience and ongoing support especially at this time.

- Presenting Partner
- Tiered sponsorship opportunities depending on your organisational objectives

Other opportunities to be involved with Zoofari include prize donations for our important event fundraising initiatives, such as the lucky key draw, raffle, silent and or live auction.

We really value your support, by donating a prize you will help us raise more funds to enable more conservation outcomes.

In return for your generous donation we will provide a suite of benefits to meet your needs, which may include branding and exposure across all event fundraising collateral, product promotion at the event and some unique entertaining benefits for your networks and colleagues.
